Whitbread plc appoints Senior Independent Director

Whitbread plc, the UK’s largest hotel and restaurant company, has appointed a new board member, effective October 1.

Stephen Williams joined the company in April, and also holds the position of Chief Legal Officer of Unilever plc, Unilever NV and Senior Independent Director at Arriva plc.

The company is employs over 33,000 people and has 1500 outlets across the UK and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. It owns the Premier Inn, Beefeater, Costa Coffee, Table Table, Brewers Fayre and Taybarns brands.

Whitbread stocks were up 0.2 percent.
