Aircraft Philipp GmbH & Co KG has seen substantial growth in recent years - and this expansion, says founder and managing director Rolf Philipp, is set to continue. Exec reports.

Bavarian aircraft parts manufacturer and engineering operation Aircraft Philipp GmbH & Co KG is currently seeing substantial growth. The company, which is still relatively young, has recently been expanding at a rate of 50 percent per year – and this pattern, says founder and managing director Rolf Philipp, looks set to continue.
“Since 2002, we have grown from five employees to 160. Our annual turnover is currently approximately £20 million and we are seeing a growth rate of about 50 percent at the moment,” he says. “We expect this average growth to continue.”
Aircraft Philipp GmbH & Co KG was originally founded in Unterwoessen, Bavaria, in 1998 by Philipp, after he left university, where he studied aerospace engineering. It began by producing small aeroplanes, including motor gliders.
“In 2002, however, we decided to start focusing on larger planes, manufacturing metal parts,” he explains. “We invested in new machinery and went into production. Since then, this has been the area Aircraft Philipp has focused on.”
Today the company is a supplier for the aerospace industry, offering a wide range of services, from NC programming with CATIA V5 to the production of ready-to-install assembled components as well as the quality assurance of produced parts made from aluminium and titanium, and nickel base alloys.
It is an authorised supplier for Airbus Germany, Airbus UK, EADS Military Aircraft, Eurocopter Germany, Liebherr Aerospace, MTU Aero Engines, Rolls Royce, and Siemens and has worked on parts for military aviation, such as the Eurocopter (Tiger and NH90), and spacecraft, such as the Ariane 4 and 5…
