Gold hits record above $1,165/oz

Gold prices hit record highs at $1,166.45 an ounce in Europe on Monday as dollar weakness fuelled momentum buying of the precious metal.

Spot gold was bid at $1,166.25 an ounce by 7:23 a.m., against $1,148.20 late in New York on Friday.
